LIABILITY WAIVERS AND POLICY

1. General: Apex Canine Training LLC will endeavor to create as safe an environment as possible for the boarding and/or training of my dog(s) and will offer safe and responsible training with training instructions. I recognize that Apex Canine Training LLC is not responsible for any unintentional errors, omissions, or incorrect assertions. I understand that the recommendation of any product or service is not a guarantee of my satisfaction with that product or service. Further, I am and will remain responsible for the actions of my dog(s) at all times and I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Apex Canine Training LLC of any and all claims of injury, expense, costs, or damages caused by the actions of my dog(s) while under Apex Canine Training LLC instruction or control and under my own care as a result of following training instructions. I understand the inherent risks of owning a dog, including, but not limited to, the risk of dog bites to myself or others.

2. Food: I understand that I am responsible to provide food for my dog(s) while in the care of Apex Canine Training LLC. If food runs out, Apex Canine Training LLC will purchase the same or, if unavailable, the nearest possible equivalent and bill me.

3. Emergency Care:
a. I authorize emergency medical care to be provided for my dog(s) by Animal Emergency Hospital of Redmond or an appropriate alternate to be determined by Apex Canine Training LLC in the event that the regular veterinarian is not available or that is geographically closer and/or off-hours care is required. I understand that I am responsible for any and all veterinary costs and agree to reimburse Apex Canine Training LLC for any charges related to emergency care.

b. I authorize Apex Canine Training LLC to administer and seek first aid and resuscitative care for my dog(s) as determined appropriate by Apex Canine Training LLC and I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Apex Canine Training LLC for any and all results thereof.

4. Living and Transportation:
a. I understand that all dogs will be boarded at Apex Canine Training LLC’s home address of 15304 199(th) Ave NE, Woodinville, WA 98077, and/or with trainer Israel Reyes at 19937 154(th)Street, Woodinville WA 98077, and/or with trainer Kristen Lee at 17617 SE May Valley Road, Renton, WA 98059.

b. I give Apex Canine Training LLC, its owners, operators and/or staff permission to transport dog(s) to and from the Woodinville location for boarding, exercise, training and medical care purposes. I further understand the risks associated with transportation such as, but not limited to, loss or injury due to accident. I agree to assume all risks and financial costs associated with said transportation.

5. Location Exercising and Training: I understand that my dog(s) may be exercised and trained at locations other than the Woodinville location, including, but not limited to, public and private buildings, parks, trails and streets. I further understand that these training locations may pose additional risks, including, but not limited to, exposure to and encounters with people, vehicles, machinery, inclement weather, wildlife, and other dogs. I agree to assume all risks and financial costs associated with any incidents that may occur at alternate training locations.

6. Training Methods: I understand that my dog(s) will be managed and trained using appropriate methods and equipment as determined by Apex Canine Training LLC. I understand that although my dog(s) will learn multiple behaviors, basic obedience, new routines, and management while in the care of Apex Canine Training LLC, it is my responsibility to maintain this learning upon their return to the home environment. Dogs do not generalize well, which means that behavior taught while in the care of Apex Canine Training LLC will only be solidified through clear, calm and consistent repetition once home.

7. Post-Board-and-Train/Puppy Camp: Apex Canine Training LLC has explained to me that animal behavior is never fixed or static; it changes depending on circumstance and environment. Even trained behaviors will fade or extinguish over time without consistent repetition and practice. Especially in cases of fear or aggression, although behavior may be modified, the dog is never “cured.”  A dog’s behavior is ultimately the responsibility of me, the owner.

a. Adult Board-and-Train. At the conclusion of my dog’s training program, I will receive an e-collar and a training session when my dog is returned to me to show me how to use the e-collar and how to continue working with my dog to reinforce and maintain the new behaviors. I acknowledge and agree that there is no guarantee that my dog will achieve the desired level of training, despite the best efforts of Apex Canine Training LLC. If I cooperate fully in training sessions, Apex Canine Training LLC will provide, without additional cost, such follow-up sessions, phone and email support as may be reasonably necessary at the sole discretion of Apex Canine Training LLC.

b. 10-day Puppy Camp. At the conclusion of my puppy’s training camp, I will receive a training session when my puppy is returned to me to show me how to continue working with my puppy to reinforce and maintain new behaviors. I acknowledge and agree that there is no guarantee that my puppy will achieve the desired level of training, despite the best efforts of Apex Canine Training LLC. If I cooperate fully in the training session, Apex Canine Training LLC will provide, without additional cost, such follow-up sessions, phone and email support as may be reasonably necessary at the sole discretion of Apex Canine Training LLC.

8. Payment Policy:
a. Boarding fees are due prior to the dog(s) being picked up for their return home, or prior to their delivery home by Apex Canine Training LLC.

b. Board-and-train/puppy camp fees. A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking the dog(s) for training; 100% of the remaining fee is due the first day of training. I understand that by agreeing to the payment, I have committed to the full length of the training program. I understand that I have the right to pick up my dog prior to the completion of the full length of the training program, but the deposit and board-and-train fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, and as such, I understand that I forfeit any unused training fee.

c. Grooming fee. I understand that if I would like my dog bathed or groomed prior to return home, there will be an additional fee, depending upon the service(s) requested and the breed of dog(s).

9. Media: I authorize Apex Canine Training LLC to use photos and videos of my dog(s) in print media, on social media, and on  apexcaninetraining.com.
