I cannot recommend Shannon enough if skilled puppy/dog training is what you’re looking for. We adopted our pup from a shelter, and although he is such a good sweet boy, he needed work with off leash and on leash skills…We are an active family, spending quite a bit of time on road trips, hiking and camping in the woods. Having a dog that could join us on our adventures and was well trained both on and off leash is highly important to me. Shannon did an outstanding job with our little guy! Whether we are in the neighborhood or out off leash in the woods somewhere, he responds to all commands and is very well behaved. It is no longer stressful to take him out and about with us. Shannon’s communication was impeccable and she often updated with photos and texts to let me know how our little guy was doing. I highly recommend Shannon for training if this is something your family is considering.

We had a great dog that just needed to learn how to be a better part of our family. Shannon took what was already a good sweet boy and turned him into an integral part of our family. He now goes with us everywhere and has unbelievable skills. In 4 weeks he went from a dog that would run and jump and pull at his leash, to a dog that heels, runs with my wife and sits until we release him to visit visitors. I recently brought my new puppy (9 weeks) to Shannon for puppy training. We really wanted to get him started off on the right foot and I felt a professional would do a better job at shaping his behavior than my busy six person family. The puppy spent two weeks with Shannon. She sent pictures and updates regularly and quickly responded to any questions I had. When we picked up the puppy, she gave us a demonstration of the commands and when and how to use them. She also provided an extensive guide to refer to. We’ve been back home for a little over a week and I can tell there is a dramatic difference in our pup’s behavior versus an untrained puppy. He sits and lays down on command, comes when called, waits patiently for food/treats. The best part is he notifies us when he needs to go out to potty. Shannon also did night time crate training which has made all the difference. Our puppy sleeps quietly and safely through the night in a different part of the house. I highly recommend Shannon’s services and we are already looking forward to sending our pup to her for more intensive training when he’s older.

The decision to take my pup to board and train was not an easy one, and after talking to a couple of training facilities, I decided to go with Shannon @ Apex.The positive vibes from our first phone conversation and how she reassured my fears, I am happy that I did. I just brought my Elle home 3 days ago after spending a month with Shannon at her home and let me tell you, this is not the same pup that started with her a month ago! My girl had no structure, was misbehaving, I couldn’t walk her without her pulling me, her constant barking and the list goes on. I simply had no control of her. I was not the alpha. I can’t tell you it is such a pleasure to take a walk with her and knowing I have control. She understands many commands and now it is my job to be consistent with her continued training.
